Randomly came across this article about keeping a memory jar, a jar that looks something like the above, will be absolutely fun to have, isn't it?
So what you actually do with a memory jar is that you write down whatever thoughts that come into your mind at that point of time, or even anything short (as restrained by the size of the paper) that you may write down on your journal, you can write them down in a small piece of paper and throw it into the jar. So, it works just like a journal, only easier, and maybe... prettier, too? :)What I did was using just post-its that you could easily get your hands on. As I have always had this glass jar (more like a vase really) sitting on my table, so I figured it is handy to just use it to create my little memory jar.
Here's mine :)
It is so much easier to manage than keeping a bulky diary that you wouldn't wish to carry everywhere with you. With journal, you usually ended up jotting your random thoughts on your phone which you later have to transfer back into your diary.
Also, after a certain amount of time, you can look back and reread all your memories and feel surprised or even notice your change of thoughts. It's like a time capsules that you constantly rebuild. I bet it would also be a good hand when you need to do some reflections your own.
